3 interiors of St Nicholas Church, Prague, Czech Republic.
St. Nicholas Church at Lesser Town Square (below the Palace), begun in 1705, is the most important High Baroque building in Prague. The cupola is more than 70 meters high and the nave of the church has a ceiling with one of the largest frescoes in Europe, painted on an area of 1500 square meters.
Breathtaking!

Thanks, Awais!
I wish I could have done this building more justice. But even so, I think the excitement of it comes through.

Absolutely, Swartzy. There is such depth of all of scale, perspective, light, shade, color and detail it is a huge opportunity. Thanks for your comment.
I took these pics with a P&S which I had only had for a few weeks. I had all of that experience with a digital, and almost none with anything else either! The learning curve was so steep it was like a vertical wall! I am still using crampons!:D So HDR was off the radar at that time.
These were taken hand held. I had three quarter nelsoned the camera controls enough to capture, I think, something of the special light which lives in that building, a huge gloom, starry with gold, through which run streams of light.

Thanks for looking, Aaron! Prague is outstanding photogenic, and the light is so pure there.

Appreciate your comment!
I had only the onboard flash, which wouldn't have gone further than a half dozen pews! So just available light.
If I remember correctly, snapping, plus flash, was OK. Photographers doing work for publication had to buy a permit.

Lesser town square (or Mala Strana in general) has some of the best ice cream in Prague! It might be one of my favorite places in the city.
Recent trip? I haven't been "home" in some time now, always good to see it.
You have to buy a permit or a ticket for just about everything nowadays. You can barely even get into the Castle grounds (nevermind the halls) without a ticket. When I would visit as a much younger kid, everything was either free, or a measely few crowns (that's like $.05). Capitalism, gotta love it.
Pleased about that, Dan. Thanks.

You're not wrong that there are other great attractions as well as churches. Ice cream. Great food! And the BEER!! clap No need to choose, in Prague you can have all, as you like!
So, your roots are in CR? Mmm, that explains something. :D:D
Prague, it seems to me, is a unique fusion of eastern, central and western Europe. It's an essential part of the European experience. It's still very much cheaper than western Europe, but that is changing quickly, as you say.

Good observations in general, you're spot on. The Czech people are historically more western and progressive in their approach to many things than their immediate eastern European neighbors, who are much more reserved. We take a bit of pride in that.
The church is pretty amazing in itself but I am actually really enjoying your last shot of the inside of the restaurant. I would love to go to Prague sometime very soon.

Speaks not only to how good a P&S can do but to your talent in framing and keeping a steady hand.
Really well done interiors.
