Mom and the Kids

I was roaming a local steam power plant's ash ponds today, wondering why I was out in 90+ heat,
no shade, except for the large mosquito swarms ....
Then I got a bit lucky. Came upon this female Black-crowned Night Heron and her kids.

Cool set. All night herons, black and crowned and yellow crowned, have such cool eyes. You caught the eyes well. I agree that number 2 is the best of the bunch.
