That second shot is pretty nice. I like the depth of field in the shot.

Is the ISO of 40 a typo?

The fly looks good, as does the Mulberry.
The eye of the fly looks a tad soft ........ nice job Steve thumb.gif

Not mad on the mulberry shot- looks a bit tight in the frame.
The fly shot is pretty good but slightly spoilt by the large amount of light OOF flower in front of it. Looks like your focusing is pretty good, just need to watch the composition as well.

    thanks brian,

yeah i cropped the mulberry a bit, maybe i shouldnt have.

the white flower was pretty well blown out, i had to bump up the recovery slider heaps..
composition is difficult, i am struggling to just get something in focus, its like juggling five balls at once(exposure, focus, composition, lighting, breathing) :)
    practice will help i hope..

next time i will focus on composition.. :D

    cheers..

Thought that might be the case - best to master the focus and exposure before moving on to composition :) . I can still remember the first time Igot a fly reasonably in focus- was really chuffed even though the composition was fairly awful :)

yeah i notice myself stopping breathing and tensing up when i am trying to get a decent focus.
I think if i just start with the basics like focus and exposure and gradually work up to the other factors..
your advice has been very helpful, thanks..
