Hi-
I'm new to photography and new to CS3. I have a client, one of my first clients, who would like the bags from under her little girls' eyes removed. I am a little clueless at where to start. I'm thinking the patch tool but I don't really know how to use this. Any help, from anyone would be soo greatly appreciated.
THanks,
Tanya

I tried attaching the photo but am having a hard time compressing it!

Tanya, before using the healing tools, try this:

    i) Add a new blank layer, set the layer to lighten blend mode

ii) Use the clone stamp tool set to sample the lower layer or all layers

iii) Opt/alt click to set the source point in aligned mode and clone over the darkness under the eyes using the good skintone just under the darkness

iv) Reduce the layer opacity of the retouching lighten blend layer to suit (say 50%) - this could be done in step 1 before cloning or one could clone with reduced opacity and build up the retouching gradually...there are many approaches

Final touches could be applied with healing if required (healing is great but not always required as the first step in retouching).

Lighten, darken, luminosity, colour are very common and handy blending modes for retouching in various situations.
