Here is a prediction. Its only a matter of time before DSLR's become like computers. You can call up and order exactly what you want instead of the predetermined retail bodies. For example, pick a body shell and say how many mega pixels you want. Maximun ISO. Frames per second. Raw or no Raw. Processor chip, etc. Then when your done with what you have, you can get an upgrade by adding parts. Watch. Its gonna happen because there flooding the market and making peple crazy! :crazy

Rather than pick and choose, I'm more thinking the components get so good, and so cheap, that the only difference is the software. Call it, software defined camera. Software defined radio as an example However, that is not in the camera maker's best interest, so I suspect they will avoid that at all cost.
