Woolly Bear

I think this is a Woolly Bear caterpillar - that would eventually pupate and emerge as the garden Tiger Moth.
The Mrs was trimming back the longer branches of the dogwood shrub in the front garden, and she called me out - having found spotted the caterpillar on the brick wall beneath the shrubs.
Enjoy.

I have see n two this year.
One crossing a road (goodness knows how they survive - you know, I think drivers deliberately avoid running them over if they see them!) and this one at the house.
