As my 40D quit this weekend (and is being sent in for repairs) and we were headed to the beach yesterday, we picked up a Canon SD 870 IS to have as something my husband can easily carry around and something to keep in the bag for a "back-up." Of course, I had to break it in! It was actually a ton of fun to play with. We put a 4 gb SDHC card in it, and even shooting at the highest quality, I didn't nearly run out of room. It removed some pressure I put on myself to get certain types of shots and I just clicked away. It's odd to not have control over the aperture/shutter, and to be honest, I wish it did let me do just those things, but it's sure got a lot packed into such a tiny little package. For a stick-in-your-bag-or-pocket, fun, grab-the-moment sort of cam, I'm enjoying it.
