Hi y'all,

I can't wait for the election to be over so I can get some free time. Here's few captures from recent shoots.

Recently the click ponds were busy

the big attraction was the draining of the pond which left a lot of fish high and dry

The action was OK at the ponds but then some dolt complained to the plant's office about the smell of the dead fish so they closed off access to the ponds. I mean, if you don't like the smell don't go there. :bash

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

Nice, Harry. The osprey ROCKS. I tried all summer to get an eagle with it talons extended and just couldn't get it done. Good job thumb.gif

We lived in Washington State back in the early 90s when all of the Californians were migrating north. Half a dozen or so of them bought there little pieces of heaven in the form of small farms in our community. After a few months they decided the neighboring dairy farms smelled offensive and they tried to get the whole area re-zoned to shut the dairies down. I guess they wanted it to smell like L.A. Go figure...

I love the wood stork, snowy and osprey just before hitting the water! Good stuff! I don't understand either the people who complain about the obvious. It's like people who move close to an airport and complain about noise.

I really like this series. Of course, I'm a sucker for a good wood stork landing shot.

But what's up with the egret doing the skimmer imitation? rolleyes1.gif

I was born in NY and us NYers have made bitching a fine art but there is a limit. This was a voluntary stink. To get to it you have to exit the water treatment plant which is not an olfactory delight on its best days. Then you have to turn onto a dirt road next to the Duda farm, this turn is usually filled with water or mud, then drive onto a stretch of grass, drive on the grass around two click ponds and do about a 270 degree turn drive around the ponds to get to the stinky part. Its not like you are going to drive past it by mistake. You really have to want to go there.

Thanks Bob and we have all of those fringe benefits. Fortunately I'm one of those lucky people who mosquittos don't bite. I've never had a mosquito bite in my life.

Thanks Dan I was lucky that the osprey decided to hit the water close to where I was working.

I always get a kick out of those folks who move somehwere in order to get away from where they were living. They then turn around and make the place they moved to into the place they moved from.

That's one of the snowy's favorite hunting techniques
