Hi-
I purchased the domain agapephotos.org and hooked it to my smugmug photo site. SOme people are having problems when they do a search either in google or yahoo with getting this site instead. It seems the keywords in my initial post in dgrin regarding my new business comes up and not my website. Help!!! I'm not sure what to do. Should I just delete the threads in dgrin or would that not stop the issue?

    It takes time for Google and Yahoo to find and index your site. You should try the tips found here to help get your site indexed: http://wiki.smugmug.net/display/SmugMug/Maximize+Search+Engine+Findability

    They really do work.

    Domain
    I understand from everyone posting that I should add a bio. I just didn't want to have that stuff visible on my homepage with my slideshow. I really thought that purchasing the domain- agapephotos.org and setting it up would take anyone to my site by just punching it in. I don't care about people finding me and giving me business from my smugmug site. I just want to be able to give out a website (agapephotos.org) and for my clients to be able to punch that in, whether it's a yahoo search or google and get my site. But my clients are getting the dgrin site where I first posted my questions when they punch in my website. Help!

    """To add information to your bio so that it is picked up by Google and the other search engines, add this to your CSS:

    Code:
    #myBioText { display: none;}

    Then in your bio, before your slideshow code, add:

    Code:
    <div id="myBioText">add bio info here, using words that you want to be picked up by search engines. Short description of your business And add a few blank lines too. That way when the search engines do pick up your site the description will be the info from this entry and not your slideshow parameters.</div>

    My instructions above are to have the code in your bio and not be seen. Did you try it? <img src="https://us.v-cdn.net/6029383/emoji/ear.gif&quot; border="0" alt="" >

    Domain
    Andy,
    Yes I did do it. My galleries are not showing now. Can you tell me where I went wrong?

    My question, though, was why people would get the dgrin post and not my website when they searched with a domain name that I own and hooked to my smugmug site. Does anyone have an idea about this?

    Thank you,

    I did what you said to do in the CSS and Bio stuff and now galleries are not showing (not even on my view). Can you help?
