OpenID 2.0

Are there any plans in the near future to support OpenID 2.0? I was trying to join a Laconica microblog, but it rejected my smugmug openid credentials. I'm assuming, especially since the software is very new, that it requires 2.0.

If this isn't coming in the near future, I'll use my yahoo openid, but I would prefer to use my smugmug one.
