Birth of my Son!
My wife and I (well my wife really) gave birth to our first child two weeks ago. I bought a 17-55 2.8 for the occasion, and I couldn't be happier with the results. I put my 40D on automatic/IS and just shot away over the 42 hour labor. Several nurses even picked it up and took pictures for us, and every, single one came out perfectly.
I'm far more impressed with Donovan than I am with the camera or lens, but I'm grateful for the great pictures when I didn't really have the capacity to attend to particular settings.
If you're interested, the rest of the photos are here. As always, thanks for looking.

The photos really turn out really well, all of them are so sharp.
Thanks for sharing with us
Nice pictures. Aren't you glad that you're a photographer at times like these. I bought my first digital camera and an Epson 2200 printer so that I could do archival prints of my new granddaughter a while back...six years now.
My grandchildren, there are more now, are well photographed...with thousands of images.
Congratulations. Donovan is one good looking baby. Best wishes to you and your family. My favorite is number six.
