Camera Info Display

Why is my camera info displaying when I've checked 'no' in the custom settings?
http://id.smugmug.com/gallery/5897901_wNemn#P-1-15

Note: I've noticed from time to time when camera info would be hidden all of a sudden it would show up again... I just added this gallery and can't hide it at all.

Thanks,

    Hi Cindy,

What you see is not related to the 'show camera info' option in SmugMug.

The camera info is somehow saved in your IPTC-caption field. It may be your camera, or the software you use to process the image.

The IPTC caption field is read by Smug and used as a caption, hence all the visible data.

You can remove it by editing your captions. Try uploading an info straight out of the camera without using and processing software to see if it is the camera or the software that does this.

    I hope this helps.

    Thank you Ivar.
It's been awhile since I uploaded and I'd forgotten about having to empty the caption fields because for whatever reason sometimes after I empty the captions they seem to magically re-appear... I've seen several I need to empty again here lately.

I use Nikon View to transfer to the computer and then Nikon Capture & Photoshop CS2 to process. Nikon transfers the camera info into a section for camera info under the caption and then it shows in the 'description' area by CS2. I'll do some more digging but I don't see any options as to where the camera info gets placed... what a pain.

Anyone familar with these softwares and have some tips... please share.
    Thanks you,

    Thanks you,

Somewhere your configuration is set to put this EXIF info into the description field. This is not the default behavior for either Nikon Capture or Photoshop CS2. My guess would be that you have some sort of plug-in or action in CS2 that is doing this, but that's just a guess.
