I think the old man's getting Alzheimer's. He just forgets what he's bought and sold, and goes and rebuys it.
Im waiting for the "WTB: Manfroto Monopod" thread next! Maybe he is just secretly a billionare and likes to buy stuff for expensive and sell them off to dgrinners for cheap!
actually, i bought patch's 1Ds - not a 1Ds Mark II. i re-wanted the ff for wa landscapes and the zeiss distagon 21 f/2.8 that i have.
i still have my 20d and am keeping it - two bodies for color work, the 1Ds for wa landscapes and anything in studio setup and the 20d for street, situational, and everything else (egrets, portapotties)?).
i always said that ff is the way to go, but for my shooting styles, carrying the 1Ds Mark II as my only body wasn't the right choice for me. now, with the 1Ds, i get the ff at 1/2 the cost of the mark II - a great deal imo.
oh and i guess technicall i have a third body - the 300d rebel, ir-modded. just took delivery of it yesterday, and just had a spin with it for some test shots in the park. more later on that..

Just because there's method to your madness doesn't mean that it's not madness.
I didn't want to clutter up the seller ratings thread, but dude, did I read right? You just re-bought the 1ds?
WTF?
Can't keep up with you.
What!!!! Andy Williams bought a camera??? I'm as shocked as I would be if you told me the sun came up. When we went to B&H they had three lines. One line was for film photography; one line was for digital; and the third line was the Andy Williams line. Three B&H salespersons have been able to retire on their sales commissions from Andy so far.

i was frettin' and fussin' over a bag that will hold all this stuff. should i even bother, waxy?
Sure. You can always change it. :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol *breathe*
Oh, that was too easy!
Seriously, how likely are you to tote it all with you? More likely you need a bag for selected portions of your stuff, right? Plus safe storage at home. At least, that's the conclusion I came to. Hence, the Pelican plus three dozen soft bags.

Harry,
You got it right I too wasn't surprised when I heard the news. I wouldn't have been surprised if he told me he just bought a 1200mm lens off Ebay (to use for street shooting, from his living room :lol4 )
I really enjoy listening to him rationalize his purchases.....lol Being the great salesman that he is, he can sell himself on any camera gear easily I just don't know how he keeps selling his wife on all this "stuff"? Maybe he's also buying more little "blue boxes"? Tiffany's is going to need their own "Andy Only" checkout line too

Wow, my VISA Sarted to cry just from lookin at the site....
Visa has the "win what you buy" thing each month. As long as Tiffany's has a month return policy, just keep hoping you win, and that your wife doeesnt find the unwon stuff in the mean time, hehe.

I bet there are not many construction Electricians shopping there.
I'm curious about this IR modding. What does it involve? Is there documentation somewhere? Inquiring minds want to know
Cheers,
