The Golden Heart of Alaska

The area around Fairbanks in the interior of Alaska is known as the "Golden Heart of Alaska". There is disagreement among some whether the name is due to the gold mines in the area or because of the golden foliage of birch and aspen in the fall. I'm in the foliage camp myself. We're in peak fall colors right now. Here are some images taken in my backyard and neighborhood.

Thanks, Bryan. Fall is my favorite also. I've lived several different locations in the USA and fall is the best time of year everywhere I've been.
