Its Mid Autumn festival here and the Lion dance competition is an annual event. It’s a show of skill, techniques and artistry requiring the pair to “prance” from pole to pole in tandem.
Added to the difficulties are the cumbersome head gear and costume. Margin of error is little as the landing area is not very large. Points will be awarded for ingenuity and difficulty in execution. Mistake do happened as shown in last clips.

Its a ghostly lion. Place is Singapore
Those Video's are really neat, I had always heard of the Lion Dances but had never really seen them before, and to have to do them on top of the platforms, jumping back and forth, really adds to their talent.
Very nicely done.

Thanks Panther for dropping by.
videos your sharing.
Hi,
Those you see from the videos jumping from pole to pole are not the usual lion dance. It meant for competition that enable segregation between the really good one and mediocre. I was told they got so many injuries during practices, some with concussion on their heads that require stitches. The normal lion dances are those just dancing on the floor, rid of any worries.
