Hi all! I am back!

I left pretty much in December 2005 when I got called back into the US Army for the war.

These last 1,000 days have been incredible. Here is a small summary of what went on with me in that time:

-Dog died
-Marriage died
-Mom died
-Traveled outside the USA to England, Germany, Qatar, Tajikistan, Kyrgystan, Afghanistan, Russia, and Turkey.
-Traveled inside the USA to Los Angeles, San Francisco, Reno, Las Vegas, Texas, Georgia, Florida, South Carolina, North Carolina, New York, Indiana, Virginia, and Wash. D.C.
-Sold Canon, went Olympus E-3. Sold that and went Nikon D700 with 24-70, 70-200 and 200-400.
-Bought two new cars
-Bought a house
-Saved some money
-Worked in an Embassy
-Improved my FICO to 839 :-)
-Lost four friends, KIA. :-(
-Saw other friends get divorced too. :-(

But now I am back and hope to be a part of the board more often. As of now I am on vacation until December 9th so that leaves me lots of opportunities for pictures!

-Robert

    I do!

Welcome back and glad you are safe. You've had a helluva 1000 days, certainly good and bad in there.

Welcome back again and share some pics when you're ready!

    Here are a few pics.
In Tajikistan they do not have pet dogs like we do in the US.

I am not saying the place is dirty, but this is what we used to clean things:

I took thousands of pictures with my E3, D700, and Casio EX-F1. Links here:

Welcome back! Here's hoping your next 1000 days are truly spectacular. And from one vet to another--many thanks for your service! Some of us were fortunate enough to stay out of harm's way (though of course would've gone if asked) and truly appreciate those who were in the trenches.

Enjoy your time off and your camera--let's see what images get your attention after such a long haul.

    Best Regards,
    Lauren
