WOW. Nice captures! #2 looks a bit starved
I like #3 the best but the crop of #3 is amazing. Edit: nm it isn't a crop. But I noticed what looks to be a "smaller" fly or some such in #3 .. and in #4 it appears the hoverfly is dining on it or moving it out of the way.

I'd guess on #1 being a drone fly (Eristalis sp.) but not sure.

Hey Phil the first guy looks like one of those things you wipe your shoes on.
It's wings don't look strong enough to lift such a large and wide body.
