Had the chance to get out yesterday on a boat, after being iced in for a few weeks. These guys were great, they didn't really care that I was about 15ft from them. First three are Blue eyed shags and the last is a giant petrol.

Some eye contact would be great...of course shooting from a boat ain't easy.
I really like the blue-eyed shags though (especially your the third one). Mine came out about the same, but the first mate of our vessel had this big giant zoom on his SLR and shared this portrait with all the passengers. I don't mean to hijack your thread, but I like his picture so much that I just have to share it. Please keep the posts coming! I've got to figure out a way to make it back down there and stay longer!

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

The cool part about this job is I've just signed up to come back down next year, thanks to budget cuts I shouldn't be too busy so I'll be able to hang with science people more.
As for now, the penguins are coming back soon, so I hope to get some good photo ops with them.
