Well I finaly got a chance this weekend to go out and actually test my new 40D :D
And I must say, the results came back very noticably better than what I was getting with my XTi. The focusing speed and accuracy really helped with all the BIFs. Cant wait to get the 100-400 to go with it!! :D

Anyways, All CC is very welcomed, I love to learn!
Enjoy!

    Wow, sweet BIF images.... thumb.gif

How much cropping did you do? Just curious, nothing more. I had a 40D for the competition I recently did, but dim lighting and using a longer lens (500/4.5) did it no favors - AF struggled at times. Superb in most other conditions... great stuff... :D

    Cheers,
    Marc

    Nice
    Very nice Mike. Great shots.

I love my 40D. I'm still learning to use it.

What lens did you use and did you focus manually or auto?

    Thanks Docdpp! :D
Yes so far I absolutely love this thing, but also still learning. I used the Sigma 70-300 APO DG Macro for these but it has been replaced with a Canon 100-400L (Should be here by the weekend :D)
I used Auto Focus on AI Focus mode.

    Nice,

I'm going shopping for a lens this weekend. I too would like the 100-400 IS L if I can get my wife by herself for a minute so she doesn't know what it costs me. :D

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

Indeed they are, quite hard without the right equipment too, they move so quickly sometimes, it makes for great BIF practice thoughthumb.gif
