Boudoir for big bucks
[imgl]http://img.skitch.com/20080912-8rnq1aedjdtrnwmjgruyj1kbrr.jpg[/imgl]This month's Professional Photographer magazine has an awesome feature article on a couple of women photogs who host "Red Door" parties. It's a great article, I like folks who think different, execute it, and succeed Click here for "What's Your Sexy?" and get the article in PDF. Direct link to PDF

Thanks, Andy - Mine hasn't come in the mail yet. I've been studying to do some bouidoir work. Next week another photographer is coming to my little studio with a few models to work with me on doing more of these. I just bought an Octoabox which is great for this as well as a beauty dish.

BUT: "Hitting the $250 minimum is generally no problem for the attendees. In
fact, the average sale is $1,500 per guest, $4,000 to $10,000 per party."
... I am doing something wrong .... back to the business books ... ...
Talk about a happy finish!

I don't think I could get authorization for that either.
Well, Gentlemen, any one heading your way that you can't shoot, send them my way - I am glad to help out!
Another advantage of being a girl!

Actually, in a boudoir environment ladies do respond better to a guy
No, Nik...that is not a true statement. Many of the girls are nervous. Lots of them won't bare it all since they are uncomfortable. I even had my last maternity session refuse to go topless - until she realized that I would respect her in the final image.
Everyone I have shot has chosen me because of being female or they wouldn't have done it at all. Over on the Boudior forum elsewhere, the women line up for the female photographers. The women who have the men do the photography usually have some model experience. I am talking about the Moms/married women....there are even a couple of photographers teaching the genre and they also have this proven...

Kathy, I agree that percentage-wise your statement is accurate, especially with a non-pro crowd.
My wife said it would be no problem........ as long as I shot blindfolded.:cry

Michelle and Marie, welcome to the Digital Grin.
Do you have any further tips about things to do and things "not" to do in boudoir photography?
Thanks,
