Boudoir for big bucks

    Thanks, Andy - Mine hasn't come in the mail yet. I've been studying to do some bouidoir work. Next week another photographer is coming to my little studio with a few models to work with me on doing more of these. I just bought an Octoabox which is great for this as well as a beauty dish.

    fact, the average sale is $1,500 per guest, $4,000 to $10,000 per party."

    I have the same feeling you do! But considering that Amy and I dropped over $1,400 for an engagement portrait session by the time we ordered all the prints we wanted I know the money is out there if you know how to get it.

    Holy c** I am really doing something wrong ... $1400 on ENGAGEMENT photos? eek7.gif I don't know if that's a East Coast thing, but here most of the brides only hire you if they get the dig. negatives / rights to get their own prints which is fair, I think rolleyes1.gif - I know that when I hired our wedding photographer that was on top of the list) ... so making any money out of prints is pretty much impossible ... ne_nau.gif I get some prints or additional albums here and there, but I have NEVER made $10,000 on ONE day!

    No digital files. A few 5x7s, 8x10s and 11x14s for us and the parents. Lots of wallets for friends. And a mounted 20x30 for our living room. Pricey for sure, but the images were fantastic.

    I did few of those (boudoir sessions). Nice pay, but kinda hard to find. I'll try make another round next year. And I will definitely use that PP issue when it comes :-)

    No, Nik...that is not a true statement. Many of the girls are nervous. Lots of them won't bare it all since they are uncomfortable. I even had my last maternity session refuse to go topless - until she realized that I would respect her in the final image.

    Everyone I have shot has chosen me because of being female or they wouldn't have done it at all. Over on the Boudior forum elsewhere, the women line up for the female photographers. The women who have the men do the photography usually have some model experience. I am talking about the Moms/married women....there are even a couple of photographers teaching the genre and they also have this proven...

    I understand the joking parts, but that aside, I always suggest my boudoir customers having a trusted female friend on the shoot, and I also try to bring a female assistant with me. Worked ok thus far.deal.gif
