Sequence of shots of a solitary wasp looking for caterpillars on my potentilla bush. Not sure what it found in the last shots but looks a bit suprised

Same question: Has she/he found something to eat or still searching?
Regards!
I see a lot of wasps searching through folliage. I thought only certain types do that, not the common wasp...
That last shot is too funny
Did it eventually find something during it's hunt?
You view Nature in such a beautiful way Brian.

I2obin - Colonial wasps will go after caterpillars to feed the grubs but tend to mascerate them first. These solitary wasps just paralyse the caterpillar and take it to their burrow where they will lay an egg on it.
