Can someone help me fix this photo? The couple wants this one, but I am not happy with it yet. I would really appreciate it

Hmm...maybe Scott or Richard can give us a way to do this....others in the past have put them in their SmugMug gallery (private) then provided a link. I downloaded what is here as a JPeg and is too difficult to work with. The whites are completly blown out as there is no information on the back of her dress and sky. A RAW file will allow to recover "some" of it as well as making adjustments in a non-destructive edit.

I would suggest (and it's only my suggestion) to convert this to B&W or Sepia or desaturated look, crop the image and eliminate all that sky above the carraige as it does nothing for the composition. The bright triangle on the back is a major distraction. Do you have any with them "in" the carraige?

Not sure why they would want to have a picture of the groom's back and the horses arse. But heck, the customer is always right!

If I was confronted with this, I'd make it arty farty like this:



If nothing else, the horses arse is blured out.

Well, I definately agree with the cropping. The sky is beautiful, I just think there's too much of it. I like the second photo you posted with the kids. Maybe clone out the cars?
I usually despise sepia, but it does work here just because it has that feeling.
Another thing, if the couple doesn't want the kids in the shot, why not crop from that one in order to get all of the "just Married" sign?

Try a few different things with it. Nice shot though!

Im not exactly sure which kind of look that you meant, but basically what I did is just add some cloud, play with the curve, contrast, saturation, and I created some different examples with Lightroom using some plugins collections that I have.

Glad to see so many participate in this.....just got back....no time this weekend...sorry. I honestly prefer David H's rendition. This shot is what it is but the artsy processing actually tells a story. The other versions simply look like a hit or miss attempt at salvaging. Just my two cents.
