AutoFocus-Zoom Question w/ XSi

I was just wondering how bad it is/How much damage will be done if I accidently focused while zooming or zoomed while focusing? Will there be permenant damage to the body or lens?

Zoom and focus are 2 different mechanical functions of a lens. It should neither hurt nor help to do one while doing the other.

I often had to zoom while the camera would try to focus during football games. No problems (except the autofocus may not keep up.)

There might be specific lenses where there could be a conflict, but I can't think what they might be right now.
