Imagine this guy is flying right AT your head.....
'cause that's exactly what happened last week when I took this shot!
I kept thinking, he's going to turn now, he's going to turn any second now.

Then it happened, I got clipped in the head with his tail wing!!

Yes I kept shooting as he was decending (like brave, uh stupid photographer would). Unfortunately the closer shots filled the frame so much they really aren't appealing. So I thought I'd share this one about 6 seconds before impact. I cropped the image to tighten the frame a bit

Wonderful! I think I'd take a glancing bird blow in order to get a shot like that! Well done.

    Hey Mark ,

    :lol4 :lol4 :lol4

That's never happened to me. My first thoughts are what did you do to tick him off? or is it possible he mistook you for a fish? :D

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

I think I know what got to him..........
Probably what happened is: you have to think like a pelican now, ok?

He took one look at my camera and zoom lens and said: "that's IT, you want a zoom lens shot of me.... here's one for ya!!!!!

    :D
