Fabulous shot Joel clap.gif What did "Live View" buy you on this shot?

Thanks folks, I appreciate all the nice comments.

Daniel, the shot is manually focused out of necessity because the lens/TC combo is too slow to AF. I find that it's very difficult to focus perfectly using just the viewfinder. LiveView allows you to see the focus at full magnification right on the LCD and makes a world of difference. I'd been meaning to try this and I thank Nikolai for giving me the inspiration to try it.

    Cheers,
    -joel

Thanks Joel. I still have not tried Live View on my XSi, mainly because I never saw a use for it, but you have shown me a practical application. thumb.gif

Great shot. It's tough to use AF on these shots. Manual is so much better in these situations.

Unbelievable shot. I thought that I saw footprints there for a second. I have not used the live view function yet, but you just gave me a reason to try it.
