#4 The Willy Wagtails were everywhere. At one point, one was even buzzing me to get out of its territory!

#17 I came across this white faced heron that let me get reasonably close.

#19 The Swamp Harriers circle endlessly out over the middle of the lake and rarely come within range for a decent photo. This one is the best I have been able to get yet, but still not great.

Interesting series Mike. All terrific shots but the glossy ibis, in particular, really caught my eye. And what a name for a bird, Willy Wagtail?

willy wagtails look great in flight. I just cant get them in focus.

Great set. The first wagtail, glossy ibis and grebes stand out.

Love all the shots, especially the duck with the blue bill. It looks to me like a North American ruddy duck (we call 'em NARDs at work).

Great Shots all of them! I love the hoary-headed grebe. I've never heard of it before.

Thanks Dan. You really can't win in bright conditions with black swans. You either blow the highlights or lose detail in the shadows.

Cheers Bud! Yeah, funny name eh! But very aptly named. They sway their tails from left to right non-stop. They never sit still.

Thanks Jen. Yeah they are cute little fellas. I think they could have come up with a more imaginative name for them here though!
