Hi you'll,

I'll be leaving tomorrow to spend some time with my son and his family before he goes off to Iraq. So I figured I would share a few more pics from the Rookery as Egret Fest comes to a close.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

    Harry,

Going to miss you and your egrets, but, more important - enjoy your time with your family and the best of wishes for your son's safe return!

P.S. Harry, were you around here when Mike Taylor was active on the forum from Iraq? Tell your son to take a camera and share his experiences.

    Have a great time...
...with your family. My best wishes for a safe tour for your son.

My nephew is training the locals over there...in hopes of policing their country for themselves.

    Godspeed.

Harry, I do believe you're getting there! lol3.gif I really like this shot - the splayed feathers, arched, proud bird, beautifully framed against the dark background, spot on exposure - lovely!

This one and the two baby egrets are wonderful images. Thanks.

    Hey Ben,

Thanks you to you and Laura for your kind wishes. My son is a computer tech so he should be comparatively safe.

Great pics Harry, one day i will see / find an egret to "shoot"...... You must be thrilled to be going to see your family, i remember all your posts in the past that introduced your son and his family to many of us...... What was clear from those posts, is that your son is a true family man in every sense of the word and im sure he'll be missed while on duty... I look forward to your future post telling of his return. Hey now who will you have around to embarass - Remember your time at Stony Mountain???
Please thank your son for me and my family for his service.

    Hey Nir,

Thanks for your good wishes. I remember Mike's posts but I don't know if Jason will take his camera. He's using my old 707 and he doesn't want to take it with him. I'll try to set him up with another camera before he goes.

Thank you. We should have a good time. We'll pick up my son at Ft. Stewart and then drive him home ot Atlanta. My granddaughters are having their first ballet recitals on Monday and Tuesday. I'll also see how much my grandson has grown. I'm looking forward to it. :D
