I enjoyed your series of images. The first one with the dense fog has soothing colors and with the fog it took me a bit to realize there was a shoreline in the valley and I like the composition with the placement of the sun in the center. The image of the dog you might want to consider cropping from the right-side some to get rid of the distracting ?pant leg? I like everything about your bridge image, angle, composition, fog, and b&w conversion!

Thanks for your comments! All the little things you pointed out were things I never even noticed so I appreciate it very much! The first and the last are 2 of my favorite pics so far!
Very Nice round of images. Well done.
I agree the clock tower needs better vertical straightness.
And I would add that it ( the building ) could, possibly,
move even further right in frame leaving less unneeded sky. Michael
the one with the dog
Great shots. I wish I was that good.
One thing I noticed that no one seems to have mentioned. In #3 (dog shot), there is something in the upper right hand corner that probably should be cropped out. It drew my attention away from the dog very quickly...
I really appreciate all the comments about my pics. Ive really always been into photography but I just recently actually started shooting. Here is another one of my favorites. Feel free to express your c & c's!!:D
I am very new to the D-SLR world so let me know what you think...good or bad...
Hi there Dooginfif20, and welcome to the Dgrin Forum,
sorry I'm a tad late at welcoming you.
Nice assortment of shots you've shown us here.
I gotta tell you, I have a soft spot for Racoons I do, I do
They are just too cute, we don't have them here in Australia,
they are found only in USA and Canada I believe.
Need to clone out whatever is intruding on the right side of the dog image,
that will fix that one.
Still think your Racoon shot is cute Harry don't like 'em but I do
I looked at the Tower (Building) a couple of times,
and it almost comes across as a model and not a real building,
kind of 3D looking ....... I like it
Your B&W's look good too, especially the Bridge Shot.
That is a real nice shot with the fog coming in too
Your doing fine, enjoy the forums, and I hope you find more Racoons to take pictures of, but don't post them in the Wildlife forum or Harry will chuck a fit ........ Skippy

I feel your love for the racoons! That one actually comes down every day at my in laws house and they give her some cat food and she loves it. She sometimes will bring her babies with her.
The b&w's are what I am about. I would say that is my most favorite way to shoot. That bridge is really famous and Whidbey Island is known for really dense fog in the morning.
The dog pic I posted and never noticed the spot on the right so I will have to edit that out soon!
I really appreciate the comments just keep them coming! The only way to learn is from my peers so any bit of advice would be greatly appreciated!!

It is Deception Pass bridge here on Whidbey Island, WA. Its actually really famous and has been in some movies!

Edit: Someone did mention it... Sorry 'bout that.
Despite the high cost of living, it remains popular.
Why do people post their equipment in their sig. Isn't it kind of like bragging? That having been said...
Canon 40d Gripped (x2), Rebel (Original), Canon 70-200 f/2.8 USM L, Canon 300 f/4, Tamron 28-75 f/2.8, Canon 50mm f/1.8, Canon 17-55 f/3.5-5.6, ThinkTank Airport TakeOff
