Long time lurker...first time poster. I'm a noob and am looking for guidance to shoot better pictures. I was battling the sun (lighting) this morning and I'm wondering how I get sharper pictures. These were all shot in aperture priority.

I appreciate your time and feedback:

I moved to a position where the sun was behind me which seemed to help my lighting issues.

The first 3 are all backlit. The first thing I do when I arrive at a shoot is note the position of the sun and find a location that puts it as much behind me as possible. This will help immensly. I see some tilted fence posts in the background too. Use your software to make them verticle.

I think the better light will make things sharper for you. If not, then start looking at the ways in which you can alter your autofocus settings to your advantage.
