Northern Harrier

This time I'm thinking what I shot is *really* a juvenile Northern Harrier..

I got me some pelicans, too:barb

I could usually depend on my 20D to get me a sharp BIF. MY 40D, on the other hand, hasn't inspired that kind of confidence (with the 100-400L). Finally, I'm starting to get a few sharp ones:clap I was beginning to think the 20D was a better BIFshooter:cry

Cheers

The harrier shots are really nice. I like the angle, lighting, and background on the first one. The second one is a great behavioral. Great job thumb.gif Thanks for posting.

I shoot from a (sort of ) blind. I take a camo poncho I picked up at walmart and stretch it over some weeds, then I get underneath it and wait. After a while the birds start coming close (if I'm lucky). These peli's flew right over me, I could hear thier wingbeats, which was incredible.

    Cheers

    Good stuff, Rich. thumb.gif

I like the getting ready to pounce Harrier shot. Those guys can maneuver like no other hawks can.
