We get a lot of deer in our neighborhood but rarely see the bucks, so having two show up was a treat. It was getting late and I had a heavy could cover so, for the first time with my new 40D I bumped up the ISO to 1250. I honestly did not think these would turn out.

I shot an event last week, dark church, ISO 1250 on my 40D. Just like yours, they came out great.

    Nice shotswings.gif

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

Nice captures, and pretty good quality in spite of the high ISO. Did you see the ISO capability on the new 50D wings.gif

Sweet!! I don't usually ask this, but which lens? I'm guessing the 70-200 F2.8 IS? Gotta be an IS me thinks...

    Joel,
No IS... I was using my 200mm 2.8 prime for these. I take it you saw the slow shutter speed. These two were not afraid of me at all and allowed me to lay downand steady myself. I took around 120 shots in all and they were still there when I left.

Yep, hand held. At 6.5 FPS you're bound to catch one between hear beats. rolleyes1.gif

"Last time I do that for two bucks" :D

Really nice images showing off their ratty coats as they get their fall fur! I can't believe those were shot at 1/60. You must not drink anything with caffeine. rolleyes1.gif
