Nice shot! Lightning is hard to do (I have done a lot of trying with no great resultsheadscratch.gif)

If only the trees weren't blocking the rest of it! GAH to trees!:giggle

Hi 8zil, that is one very cool lightning bolt shot clap.gif
too bad the trees block part of the view.

Thanks for the comments guys, it was mostly luck, because well you never know where they or when they will hit!! about the palm trees, I too thought that is a shame that they block the bolt, but on the other hand, they also ad something to the composition, or at least I want to think so

I'm imagining a medium length exposure, repeated and just a case of waiting for the strike.

A beautiful shot. I kinda like the trees in the shot but agree it would have been even better if they had been elswhere in the frame or out of it. Still, a superb capture.

The top halve of it looks just like the cover photo of "Love over Gold" from the Dire Straits. Great lightning photo, although I'd crop off most of the trees.

You might consider getting rid of the distractions.

I disagree with Ric here, I think the empty space lends power to the lightening. The crop Ric made is too 'full of it' IMO... Subjective as it is mwink.gif
