Will a Jupiter 8 fit OK on this Canon 7 rangefinder? How about an Industar 61? I heard that there are some Jupiter lenses that will not work with this camera and may damage it. Any other lens recommendations?
Thanks in advance.

    On this site:

    http://www.dantestella.com/technical/canon7.html

... the author says (relating to the Canon VI-L and Canon 7)

, "... are incompatible with the Kobalux 21/2.8 and 28/3.5; the Soviet Jupiter-12 35/2.8, and the Zeiss Biogon 21 (unless you take off the protective "ears." This is due to the use of light baffles (wholly absent in Leica's cameras). Do not use these with collapsible lenses (they can damage the insides)."

Then there used to be another site that mentioned:

"Odd Incompatibilities: Due to its internal light baffles, the Canon P cannot fit the following lenses:

    Most collapsible lenses
    Kobalux 21/2.8
    Kobalux 28/3.5
    Jupiter 28/6
    Jupiter-12 35/2.8
    Zeiss Biogon 35/2.8

Rule of thumb on this is to be VERY careful with lenses with large and deep back elements before you try to screw them in. The light baffles are very delicate, and the lenses can damage them very easily.
    "

Other than that, I honestly don't know.
