Awesome photos!!! They are so crisp and clear. I too cannot decide which is my favorite. I think I like the football the best only because they are so sharp and I know how difficult it is to photograph under the lights. Great job!!

Agreed - the football shots are awesome! I know personally how freakin' hard it is to get great flashed football shots - this is how you do it right here, folks!

Great shots. I also love the football ones the best but the soccer #4 and #8 are wonderful too.

What time of day was your soccer games for those two shot, by the way? I see the shadows on the grass but not so much on the faces - how did you do that?

#4 was shot at around 12:30 bright sunny NC day
#8 was shot at 5pm nice sunny afternoon in NC- you can control shadows by knowing your gear and fields you shoot at and adjusting both angles of shooting and exposure( histogram )watch the left-side for to much shadow- I would rather blow a few Highlights than have to much shadow

Night football is SO hard -- some of the people who have responded above assume the use of flash, but is that in fact the answer on these? I haven't tried it yet, but the simple geometry tells me that from the sidelines flash will only help occasionally.

Yes Flash was used- mounted on home made bracket 20 inches under lens
    set - one stop below 1/2 power ISO 640 F3.2 SS 250
I used ISO and F stop changes to control exposures depending how far action was from me

AWESOME Shots...for your shots..do you shoot in Aperature or Shutter priority and for your daytime shots, do you use a lens hood? Was just curious because if the lens hood is long, does it effect your shutter speed if in AP mode?

    Thanks
