Hello I am new to smugmug and I would like to create a favorites gallery, but retain the photos in their current galleries. Is there a way to do this?

    Hi PJ,
You can do this using fairly easily by making a copy of the photos you wish to display in your Favorites gallery and then moving the copies to the gallery. You will find the Make a Copy and Move to Other Gallery tools in the Photo Tools menu.

Make a Copy only works for one image at a time. But the Move to Other Gallery tool works for bulk moves. http://www.smugmug.com/help/photo-tools-menu

    Hope this helps :D

    More help on this??
I also would like a photo to appear in multiple galleries. Isn't there a better way to do this? Copying and then moving is very time consuming.

If this is the only way, I suggest have a 'Copy to Gallery' function similar to the move function, so that this can be done in one step en-mass.

    Thanks,

    Eric

I'd like to see this as a feature as well.

I'd like to make "Fall Colors" gallery for instance, but some of the shots also belong in some of my place galleries. Being able to add a photo to multiple galleries would allow us to keep things like comments and ratings with the photo rather than a particular instance of it.

You can easiely do it now with keywords and all the photos will retain things
like comments and ratings. Add the keyword "fall colors" to each photo and
use this link for the gallery.

That would work. Playing devil's advocate though, without some amount of customization I couldn't get a nice pretty front page link with gallery preview...

Like, if I wanted to try and (finally) get a photo to have some ranks by adding it to the dgrin community I can't link a keyword to the community, only a gallery.

I want to do the same thing. I want to have a picture in one Gallery, and then have a "favorites" gallery. I went to the photo tools and can not find the "copy picture". I see the move to another gallery...but I want it in both places. Any other thoughts?

Check again in the 'photo tools' menu, 'make a copy' is located near the bottom of the list. thumb.gif

When I Copy and Move to another gallery, the slideshow does not work
    Hi,

I copy a photo, and move the photo to a different gallery. When I run the slideshow in the different gallery, the moved photo does not show up and I get "photo not found". Is this a bug?

    Thanks,
