More Estuary Birds

Here are some bird shots from the past week at the Hunter River estuary.
These are from the weekend.

1. Red-capped Plover in the water. I had not seen them going into the water before. They usually skitter around the sand and the mudflat.
They come up really close and are not scared of humans much at all. They are quite beautiful birds.

2. Sacred Kingfisher.
This bird was just sitting on the log near the water when I was going home.
I had never seen one of these before. They are extremely gorgeous birds.
