Pictures with no extension?

Hi!
I'm trying to upload a bunch of pre-macosx pictures using MacDaddy. It seems that MacDaddy requires a .jpg (or supported extension) for it to be recognized as a picture.
I'd rather not change all the extensions to .jpg, since there are a lot of pictures. The old type/creator of the photos is JPEG/TVOD.
Is adding an extension the only way to get MacDaddy to upload them? Note the Java uploader seems to have the same problem.
