The California Coastal Crawl (Friday, 12/5/08) is on! I'm taking a day off of work and leading dgrinners down the coast.

The weather seems to be holding but the big unknown is the fog. The current plan is to start somewhere north (baker beach or muir woods) and slowly make our way south along the coast (lighthouses, seals, beach).

    Sunset: unknown; somewhere south.

Contact me if you're interested. Decisions won't be made until tonight/tomorrow morning.

If you go a little further north to Limantour beach the whales have been coming in regular the past couple of weeks. The fog can get you, but has been clearing off around 10am.
There are plenty of seals that gather just north of Stinson beach at Bolinas Lagoon also, usually between 7am and 10am (before the tied comes in).

(edited to add) The parking area at Muir Woods fills up incredibly fast on Fridays and Saturdays...

Big Thanks to Aktse, Andy and the gang, and everyone whose name I'm sure I won't remember. We had a great day crawling up along the coast from Santa Cruz to San Francisco.

I look forward to tomorrow evening and posting some photos from today's adventures. Not to mention seeing what other groups are spending time on this weekend!
