SB 800 and D-lite 2

Hello there,
I've got to know your forum very well, so I'm sure you can help me with this query...
I've been using Elinchrom's D-lite 2, and also Nikon SB800 / SB600, but I've never teamed them up yet. I wanted to use the D-lite as main lights and the Nikon lights as extra lights .
I had hoped I could use the Nikons CLS wireless facilities with the D200 as commander, but the D-lites are triggered first by the command signal flash - or so it seems. I had tried different shutter speeds but I can't get them all to synch. :scratch
So I had the idea -option 2- to use the PC socket, on the side of the SB800, to connect to the D-lite, so although I don't have the total freedom of wireless (I'd use the TTL synch cord to conect the D200 to the SB800), I'd still be able to have a third or fourth light on the go.
I was ready to try the second option, but then I had the thought that perhaps the SB800 may fry the D-lite mechanisms with too much current or something equally unexpected!!
:jawdrop
I've seen posts about 'daisy-chaining the lights' is my option 2, what is being referred to?
So what do you think? Can I remote my speedlites in synch with the d-lites? Or would I fry my lights by linking them together?
thanks,
Johnny Lichtmann

The Nikon manual stops short of saying you can connect to other non-Nikon strobes and detailing the relevant caveats,
thanks again
