Nikon 50mm f1.8 and D40x

I just bought a Nikon 50mm f1.8 lens to shoot portraits, but I have a D40x and I know that the autofocus does not work (which is not a problem) but I wanted to know if anyone knows if the studio lights will work.

I also have heard other people online mentioning a focus light and I wanted to see if anyone knew if the d40x had a focus light?

    Why would your studio lights not work with this camera/lens set up? Perhaps I don't understand your question. The focus light you refer to is for assisting when using the auto focus on the D40X. It will not work with the 50mm lens you have since your lens will not auto focus.
