So I upgraded to FF 3.03 the other day and now I cannot upload more than a couple of images before FF crashes...anyone else having this problem?
Cheers,
Monte

I had the same problem a week or so ago. I wasn't sure if it was just a glitch but I now see that I'm not alone with this issue.

I didn't have time to try and sort it out so I just opened up my IE and had no issues with my upload after that.

Not sure it's a Firefox 3.03 issue or a SmugMug issue or just an interface issue between them.

I did the same and used IE8 with no problems.

No answer from SM on this so I guess it is not a big problem. I was reporting the problem because FF seems to be the preferred browser for the SM heroes.

I was having problems with FF 3.01 and I think 3.02, but updating the latest Java release candidate fixed my problems. (This is the Java needed for Chrome, the new Google browser).

We fully and completely support IE6/IE7/Safari and FF. We love Firefox (who doesn't!).

We have found that updating your current installation of java will typically resolve this issue.

Follow these steps to make sure your java is up to date for a PC:

    1) Go to http://www.java.com

    2) Click on "Do I have Java?" and wait for the test to run.

    3) Follow the steps to get the latest version of Java if you need it.

If you have a Mac, it is even easier, just click on the Apple Menu and run the "Software Update" to get the latest version of Java.

    Thanks Andy

I'll give it a try when I get home.

I have done this many times since FF 3.0.1 when I started having this uploading problem after updating to the latest Java. It's usually less than 6 images before FF crashes. So, I'm not sure whether it's FF or Java.

The problem still persists and the latest was about 10 hours ago headscratch.gif. In the mean time, I'm using IE7 to upload which I'm not very delighted about!

I updated my java as well and FireFox still crashed when uploading images...and it is about the same number, 4 or 5 and then it locks up. Worked fine until I upgraded to V 3.03 :(

Try the early access version I mentioned. Andy's instructions will only get you the latest full release, not the release candidate. This is what fixed it for me.

    Mine crashes left and right.

I ended up going with the send to smugmug app. Much more reliable. Plus if it crashes, it remembers where it left off.
