BP511 v. BP511A

    Yes they are, I have them both, I would try not to interchange them, but you can. The BP511A is a newer, better preforming battery so interchanging many drain the BP511a more quickly, but in a pinch you can do it.

    Oh sorry no I didn't mean it like that. I use the batteries in pairs in a battery grip, so I was talking about using them at the same time. No using them one at a time wouldn't cause any problems. The BP511A should have a better performance thats all. When I bought my battery grip I made sure I had 2 of the same batteries.
