We drove up to Bella Coola, British Columbia to visit my daughter and her family. Took a "few" photos there and on the trip out toward Williams Lake.

While there we took a chartered sail boat trip on a cold rainy day.384766666_4VyTN-L.jpg

The views of the mountains surrounding the valley that day were pretty low contrast.

The next day the drive toward home was what one could have wished for the weekend weather.

A much better view of the mountains this day

and another one 384866287_3LG8c-L.jpg

Of course there is always the "Hill" to face. 4,000 ft. climb in 11 miles with only a single lane dirt road and up to 14% grade. Not for the faint of heart in the daytime let alone traveling it at night with fog as we did on our trip in.384873499_KwCeM-L.jpg

A couple more shots on the road home.384889442_ZAvL7-L.jpg

And as a final shot - a step back to a bygone era when the worry of polution was not so large.

and of course comments and suggestions for improvements are always appreciated.

There are more photos of the trip on my web site. Including photos of the grizzly bears feeding on salmon. Not top quality due to a little camera shake using the bigma lens.

albums animals and scenic. Also there are winter photos in an album Bella Coola
