Tried thinking a little bit out of the box, and came up with some "Dusk" pics that might work:

Opinions welcome!

I think your on to something here. Of these posted #2 is the one I like...but if you are able to do a reshoot....try and get the black frame into the frame completely in the dead on shot. Cropping in with the camera but be aware of the frame around the sign to make it even. JMO.

Yup. #2 with a bit more head room and a shade tighter on the right and bottom.

#2 it is! Weather permitting, I'll try for a better cropped image tonight. Alas, I apparently can't hold a camera straight to save my life. ne_nau.gif

The reshoot made things more complicated ...
The reshoot had much better light tonight than last night. Now I'm REALLY scratching my head.

    I agree totally with pyro.

#2 of the new group is compositionally much batter than any of the tighter framings and the arrow just keeps sending my eye back to the sunset. Fits the theme much stronger than the others.

I honestly didn't think any of the first set were capable of making the top 10, but I think you stand a good chance with that newer shot.

    Regards,

    Peter
It's not my camera's fault, I'm just visually illiterate

Thank you everyone for your help. My final pic is up, for better or worse!

I figure I took about 250 photos of Schallers in the past two days (admittedly, most were bracketed) , so I think I'm eating in tonight. :D
