This is a bout a 4 month old lens for the Canon mount. Currently the sharpest ultrawide lens for a cropped sensor. I'm selling this lens b/c I'm moving up to a full frame.
This lens will back focus by 2cm at 16mm at f2.8 at the Min. focusing distance. This is my second Tokina 11-16, as the first one from the first batch I bought from Samy's did exactly the same on two different bodies. This is from a second batch I bought from B&H and it does the same on my two bodies. So I think this is a system wide thing and not due to this particular lens or batch. But this is not a close focusing lens for "macro" work, so it shouldn't be a big deal. You can read all my posts about it and see some images with it here.

Otherwise no blemishes on the lens or the optics. Comes with caps, hood, box, instructions, blank warranty papers, receipt, and even the plastic wrapping. I guess you can have the receipt and say it was a gift if you want the 3 year warranty as well.
B&H and others sells this for $569 but due to short supplies they are usually out of stock. Tristate sells imported Gray Market versions for $630.
I'm selling this for $500 for a local sale. Add $20 for shipping and Paypal fees.

As for an ultrawide, I do recommend it. Tamron 11-18mm is being replaced by a Tamron 10-24 so you may find a cheap used one perhaps from someone upgrading?
As for ultrawides for a cropped sensor, I had a tokina 12-24, sigma 10-20, used the Canon 10-22, and two tokina 11-16 and the tokina 11-16 is optically superior to all of them. It does give up more flare and a much shorter range for unparelled corner sharpness. The CA is controlled and there is good contrast.
PopPHoto tested it recently and said pretty much similar things.
Thanks for the mini-review. I actually didn't realize there were so many ultra-wides. I'll be getting a 5DII when that comes out this year so I know the 10-22 won't work for me, not sure about the rest at this point though (I'll still have the 40D though, so it technically would work for me).
Alright, I'm done taking over your sales thread.
