I used to use sub collections alot in LR1.4...Where I could create a sub collection underneath my wedding collection root and from there create new sub collections that sometimes were 2 or 3 folders deep...

Anyone know if this functionality has gone away ? I doesnt allow me to do this anymore.

Cheers

In LR2 Sets are used to nest Collections, Smart or 'dumb'. The attached screen shot shows a portion of my COllections list. Sets can hold sets or Collections, so ammong other things I have mimiced the Catagory/Gallery set-up I have at my SmugMug site.

    Hope this helps.

Man this was so easy in LR1.4

Maybe my LR2 is not working right as it doesnt allow me to creat sub collection sets within the smart collection. When I go to create a new smart collection it only allows me to select the root of the smart collection folder and no sub folders..

Alright, got it figured out. I noticed that the icons for my collection folders were different than yours. I was creating collections and not collection sets...From there I can create subcollections within that set.

    All good now..

    Thanks for the help.

    Cheers
