Osprey on a stick

I was sitting working on a translation at home a couple of weekends ago when my sister called me. She was jogging down along the coast and told me she had spotted a beautiful raptor of some sort sitting on a post in the beautiful late afternoon sunlight. She told me I should try and get down there and see if I could get some photos. I didn't think it'd still be there (about 10 mins by car), but I went to see anyway. Sure enough, it was! :clap I inched closer and closer, only getting a couple of shots in the late afternoon sun before it went behind the clouds. So I went to flash and got anded up just meters from it. It wasn't too bothered by my presence. C&C welcome.

The others are very nice, but it's hard to beat that natural light.

The odds were against you, Mike...but you were rewarded nicely for your effort.

Thanks Ric. Yeah I was a bit bummed that I didn't get a bit closer before the light went, but hey, I got some great shots anyway.

Hey Dan! Cheers for asking. Moved from Japan back to Aus in May, and just started working again about 2 months ago. Not been online much or out taking pics either :cry Hopefully will be able to get out a bit more soon.
