An evening stroll in Minneapolis

During a business trip to Minneapolis I took a little time to see the sights. Downtown on the Mississippi River was a great way to spend an evening.
We started out walking to the impressive St. Mary's Basilica.
Then we wandered through a park - didn't expect to find monarchs in Minnesota in autumn!
Next came the waterfront. They have some strange signs here to confuse the tourists.
You can walk down to see the ruins of the old mills...
...and see how they creatively left some of the old as a facade when they renovated it to be new again.
The old North Star Blankets sign was cool -
Some modern architecture was right nearby - I think it's part of an art museum? Note the wedding shoot - there were at least 5 different brides getting photos taken all around the waterfront that day.
You can't go to the waterfront without a shot of the Arches bridge -
Part of the old Pillsbury complex
Even in a city there are quiet spots for couples.
As the sun set, I tried a few panoramas out for fun -
And then one last shot before dark - all in all an enjoyable walk around town!
Thanks to Swartzy for the heads up on the sights to see! :thumb
