Does Smugmug still ship print larger than 8x12 ROLLED?

Any chance prints can be shipped flat? Even if it were a checkbox option?
I want to order everything from SM, but right now I order larger prints via Millers due to the flat shipments.

Is this anything that has a chance of being done?
Thanks...
Bill

    Hi bill,

Note: Prints up to 8x10 are packed flat, 10x10 and up are tubed. More info on the shipping page

Just a note about shipping practices as I worked in a huge lab.

Larger prints are generally ordered in fewer numbers and dont make for a nice thick package. Rolling prints is a quality improvement to prevent shipping defects from happening, but I have seen some odd stuff returned. When ever you get a rolled print it is probably rolled with the emulsion on the inside. Best thing to do is to set flat or to re-roll with emulsion out. If oyu have to store prints for a long time the large rolls with the emulsion out is fine but flat and horizontal is the best way. Again, that is long term. For short term, storage and shipping in tube is very protective of a print.
