Gill's flower... (close-up but not full on macro)

The wife picked a flower this evening and asked me to photograph it. The problem with a lot of vivid red flowers is they don't always photograph that well due to the strenght of the primary colour. So with that in mind, I added a Bas Relief filter to the image to take away some of the power.

Like this Paul. The added texture works well

If you shoot RAW I find dropping the colour temp down to around 5200 helps de-saturate reds a bit.

The first shot looks gorgeous and natural. The second, the colors don't look right. Stick with the first.
